“Street Corner Demon” Anime Gets Main Cast, July 11 Premiere

Earlier today, the official Machikado Mazoku (Street Corner Demon) anime website updated with a new key visual, as well as the show’s main cast and premiere date. We break the details down below.

The series will star the following:

  • Yūko Yoshida: Konomi Kohara
  • Momo Chiyoda: Akari Kitō
  • Lilith: Minami Takahashi
  • Mikan Yanatsugi: Tomoyo Takayanagi

Hiroaki Sakurai (Kodocha, Cromartie High School) will direct the project at J.C. Staff, with Mai Otsuka (Non Non Biyori, Shakugan no Shana) providing character designs. Keiichirō Ōchi (Hinamatsuri, La Corda d’Oro Blue Sky) is in charge of series composition for hte title.

Izumo Ito’s Machikado Mazoku manga launched in the pages of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine in September 2014. Four compiled volumes have been released to date, with the most recent shipping to stores on October 25, 2018. Volume 5 will hit retailers on June 27.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

A 4-koma that follows Yoshida Yuuko, a 15-year-old girl who awakens one morning with demonic power, and is tasked with defeating a local magical girl. She has horns and a tail, but truthfully less power than an ordinary girl. She struggles to lift the “curse of a 40,000 yen per month living.”
