Earlier today, the official Princess Principal anime website updated with the cast and crew, as well as a visual and trailer for upcoming film Princess Principal: Crown Handler. We break the details down below.
The 30-second promo focuses on the film’s action scenes, as a narrator describes the major story beats.
The image features Ange and Princess posing on a ledge under a full moon, as the city sprawls beneath them.
Masaki Tachibana (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Barakamon) will return to direct the project at stuio Actas, with the team of Yukie Akiya (Princess Principal, Celestial Method) and Kimitake Nishio (Zettai Karen Children, Moetan) providing character designs. Noboru Kimura (Solty Rei, Kokkoku) is writing the film’s script.

Aoi Koga is replacing Ayaka Imamura, who retired in 2018 due to health concerns.
Princess Principal: Crown Handler will open on April 10, 2020. The film is one of six planned features, which will tell a story that follows the events of the TV series.
Princess Principal aired in the Summer 2017 broadcast season. Sentai Filmworks holds the rights to the show and streamed it as an Anime Strike exclusive simulcast.
Princess Principal is an original project form Actas and Studio 3Hz. The TV series was helmed by Masaki Tachibana, with Kouhaku Kuroboshi (Kino’s Journey) providing character designs. Ichiro Okouchi (Azumanga Daioh, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) was in charge of series composition and scripts.
Yuki Kajiura scored the show’s soundtrack.

At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen’s Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. Under the guise of regular high school girls, they act as spies under cover.
