Earlier today, the official Mobile Suit Gundam YouTube channel updated with a new trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash). The minute-long, subtitled promo introduces the film’s main plot beats, and previews the animation.
Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway will hit Japanese theaters on July 23, 2020.
Shukou Murase (Ergo Proxy, Witch Hunter Robin) will direct the film at Sunrise, with the team of Pablo Uchida, Naoyuki Onda, and Shigeki Kuhara providing character designs. Yasuyuki Mutou is writing the film’s script.
The Hathaway’s Flash trilogy was previously teased during a streaming event in April 2018. The film will adapt a novel trilogy by series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, which ran from 1989 through 1990.
The title is set in the events following Char’s Counterattack, telling the tale through the eyes of Bright Noa’s son, Hathaway Noa.
