Masaaki Yuasa To Helm “Inu-Oh” Film For 2021

Earlier today, Science SARU announced that director Masaaki Yuasa is working on a new project, titled Inu-Oh. The first crew members were revealed, along with a key visual. We break the details down below.

Staff

Masaaki Yuasa (Devilman Crybaby, Ping Pong) will direct the film at Science SARU, with Ping Pong creator Taiyo Matsumoto providing original character designs. Akiko Nogi (Library Wars) will write the script. ASMIK Ace is co-producing.

Inu-Oh will hit Japanese theaters in 2021. ASMIK Ace will present the project at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival’s Mifa marketplace.

Inu-Oh will be based on Hideo Furukawa’s novel, Heike Monogatari: Inu-Oh no Maki (Tales of the Heike: Inu-Oh). The novel first debuted in May 2017 under Kawade Shobo Shinsha’s main imprint.
