Pretty Rhythm fever is still running strong, though fans will need to wait a bit until their next fix.
Earlier today, the official Kiratto Pri☆chan anime website announced that the series will receive a second season in April 2019. A pair of visuals for the project were also revealed.
The first image depicts Rinka Aoba, Emo Moegi, and Mirai Momoyama in their idol forms.

The second image reveals the mysterious silhouette of a fourth idol character.
The visuals were revealed in coordination with an announcement at the “Minna de Kiratto Pretty Live 2018” concert event, which was held at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe convention center. The event was the largest event that the Pretty franchise has seen to date, with twenty-five main cast members from PriPara, Idol Time PriPara, and Kiratto Pri☆Chan appearing onstage.
Kiratto Pri☆Chan began airing in the Spring 2018 broadcast season.
Hiroshi Ikehata (Akiba’s Trip: The Animation, FLCL 2) was tapped to direct the series at studios Tatsunoko Production and Dongwoo A&E, with Hajime Mitsuda (Akiba’s Trip: The Animation) providing character designs. Kazuho Hyodo (Akiba’s Trip: The Animation, ReLIFE) was in charge of series composition for the project.
Tatsuya Kato (Food Wars!, Love Live! Sunshine!!) scored the show’s soundtrack.
Pretty Rhythm launched in 2010 as a joint project between Takara Tomy and game developer Syn Sophia (Style Savvy). The first game, Pretty Rhythm Mini-Skirt, was targeted toward elementary school-aged girls. The games focus on aspiring idols who compete in events that blend fashion, singing, dancing, and skating, known as Prism Shows.
Pretty Rhythm spawned three anime titles, as well as a theatrical film:
- Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream (2011)
- Pretty Rhythm Dear My Future (2012)
- Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live (2013)
- A Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection: Prism Show Best Ten (Movie, 2014)
In 2014, a selection of eleven episodes from the first three shows were aired under the title Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection. A new project, titled Pretty All Friends, was unveiled in December 2017.
