“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” Anime Gets First Cast, April 2019 Premiere

It’s time to meet those who would dare to try to slay the demons.

Earlier today, anime fans gathered in Tokushima for the Fall Machi ★ Asobi fan event. During the festivities, the staff behind the Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba anime revealed the show’s main cast members.

The title will star the following:

  • Tanjirō Kamado: Natsuki Hanae
  • Nezuko Kamado: Akari Kito

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will hit Japanese TV in April 2019.

Koyoharu Gotōge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga launched in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016. The series currently spans twelve volumes, with the 13th compilation slated to hit stores on November 2.

Viz Media currently holds the rights to the title, which they describe as:

In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.

Learning to slay demons won’t be easy, and Tanjiro barely knows where to start. The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers…but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first!
