Darwin’s Game Co-Creator To Pen Anime Adaptation

Darwin's Game Anime Key VisualOn October 11, the official Darwin’s Game anime website announced that series co-creator Shū Miyama will write every episode of the show. The series is slated for a January 2020 release.

Miyama, who went under the pen name Ginko, is one half of the FLIPFLOPS manga group. Miyama writes the stories, while Yuki Takahata provides artwork.

Two cast members were confirmed for the project as of press time:

  • Kaname: Yūsuke Kobayashi
  • Shuka: Reina Ueda

FLIPFLOPS’ Darwin’s Game manga launched in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in December 2012. Eighteen volumes have been released to date, with the most recent hitting stores on July 8.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

An unknowing Sudou Kaname is invited to try out a new mysterious mobile app game called “Darwin’s Game”, but later realizes that he’s in for more than he’s bargained for when he finds out that there’s no way to “quit” the game.
