Crunchyroll To Host World Premiere For In/Spectre Anime At Anime Expo 2019

Earlier today, Crunchyroll announced that they will host the world premiere of the In/Spectre anime at Anime Expo. A screening for the first episode will be held on July 5, at 4:00PM Pacific (7:00PM Eastern) in the JW Marriott Los Angeles – Platinum Ballroom’s Room LP2. Voice actor Mamoru Miyano will attend the screening as a guest.

A new trailer and visual were also revealed, the details of which we break down below.

Trailer

The minute-long promo introduces lead characters Kotoko and Kuro, while cutting between scenes from the show. A narrator delivers the basic premise for the show.

In/Spectre Anime Visual

In/Spectre will air in Winter 2020.

Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, D.N.Angel) will direct the project at studio Brain’s Base, while Takatoshi Honda provides character designs. Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These) is in charge of series composition.

Crunchyroll describes the title as:

Both touched by spirits called yokai, Kotoko and Kuro have gained unique superhuman powers. But to gain her powers Kotoko has given up an eye and a leg, and Kuro’s personal life is in shambles. So when Kotoko suggests they team up to deal with renegades from the spirit world, Kuro doesn’t have many other choices, but Kotoko might just have a few ulterior motives …
