BEM Anime Gets New Trailer, Visual, & 4 Cast Members

Earlier today, the official BEM anime website updated with a new trailer, a key visual, four cast members, and details on the show’s theme songs. We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 131-second promo sets footage from the series to both of the show’s main theme songs.

Key Visual

The image features shots of the main characters, set in a striking flat-toned style.

Cast

The series will add the following:

  • Dr. Recycle: Junichi Suwabe
  • Daryl Bryson: Sōma Saitō
  • Roddy Walker: Kōtarō Nishiyama
  • Helmut Felt: Daisuke Ono

Theme Songs

Maaya Sakamoto will perform opening theme song Uchuu no Kioku, while JUNNA performs closing theme Iruimi.

BEM Anime VisualBEM will launch on July 7. The full broadcast schedule is as follows (All times JST):

  • TV Tokyo: 7/7/2019 at 25:35 (7/8/2019 at 1:35AM)
  • TV Aichi: 7/7/2019 at 25:35 (7/8/2019 at 1:35AM)
  • TV Osaka: 7/8/2019 at 25:05 (7/9/2019 at 1:05AM)

Yoshinori Odaka (Azure Striker Gunvolt, B-Daman CrossFire) will direct the project at LandQ, with Masakazu Sunagawa (Azure Striker Gunvolt) providing character designs. Atsuhiro Tomioka (Ace Attorney, Ray) is in charge of series composition. Range Murata is credited with the original character designs.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Bem: Katsuyuki Konishi
  • Bela: M.A.O.
  • Belo: Kensho Ono
  • Mysterious Lady: Maaya Sakamoto
  • Joel Woods: Kenji Nomura
  • Sonia Summers: Maaya Uchida

Yōkai Ningen Bem began its life as an anime TV series in the Fall 1968 broadcast season. The title, which was directed by Noburo Ishiguro (Legend of the Galactic Heroes) and Hideo Wakabayashi at Daichi Daichi Dōga, spanned 26 episodes. The show saw a modern revival in 2006, when Studio Comet, NAS, and Sony Pictures Entertainment teamed up to produce a new entry in the franchise.

A live-action drama series and live-action film were also produced, which launched in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
