“Release the Spyce” Anime Gets Second Teaser Trailer

Remember: she who controls the Spyce controls the universe! (Can’t stop, won’t stop making Dune jokes)

Earlier today, the official Release the Spyce anime website updated with a new teaser trailer, as well as the show’s premiere schedule.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The 102-second teaser opens with the members of Tsukikage bounding from roof to room, as Momo gets her first glimpse of the crew. The promo cuts to a general overview, as character dialogue drives the core story beats. Through it all, a funky, bass-heavy riff plays as background accompaniment.

Premiere

Release the Spyce will hit Japanese TV on October 6. The series will air on the following networks (All times JST):

  • MBS: 10/6/2018 at 26:38 (10/7/2018 at 2:38AM)
  • Tokyo MX: 10/7/2018 at 23:30 (10/7/2018 at 11:30PM)
  • BS11: 10/7/2018 at 25:00 (10/8/2018 at 1:00AM)

Release the Spyce Key Visual The series is a collaboration between Yuruyuri creator Namori and Yuki Yuna Is a Hero creator Takahiro.

You Satou was tapped to direct the project at Lay-duce, with Satoshi Ishino (Excel Saga, Date A Live) providing character designs. Co-creator Takahiro is in charge of series composition and original planning for the title.

SORASAKI.F is credited with the original work.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Momo Minamoto: Yukari Anzai
  • Yuki Hanzōmon: Manami Numakura
  • Mei Yachiyo: Aya Suzaki
  • Fū Sagami: Akane Fujita
  • Hatsume Aoba: Aya Uchida
  • Goe Ishikawa: Yuri Noguchi

Release the Spyce will revolve around Momo Minamoto, a high school girl in the city of Sorasaki. Momo’s very different from most people her age, though. She’s actually an agent for the private intelligence agency Tsukikage, which protects the city and its citizens from harm. Under the careful instruction of her senior Yuki, Momo and her other friends keep the peace.
