New Life Plus Manga Volume 1 CoverEarlier today, Kadokawa’s Comic Walker app released a new chapter of Satoru Abou’s [New Life+] Young Again in Another World manga on their digital platform. The new chapter, Chapter 26 Part 1, is the first of two installments scheduled. The second installment will launch on September 22.

The manga adapts MINE’s light novel series of the same name. Both Abou’s manga and MINE’s light novels were pulled from circulation on June 6.

On May 30 and 31, Twitter user SonmiChina, a self-described “Chinese [person] born in Japan,” unearthed and posted images of several tweets from MINE’s Twitter feed.

We previously reported on the news, and provided translations of all of MINE’s tweets.

On May 30, the user posted images from MINE’s Twitter feed which date back to through 2015. The tweets feature the author using numerous derogatory remarks to describe China and its people, which SonmiChina refers to as “hate speech.” These tweets, though they had been deleted, refer to China as “bug country”, among other epithets.

On May 31, SonmiChina published a second salvo of tweets, which featured similarly denigrating comments toward people of Korea, often referring to the nation as “Rape Country” and its citizens “apes” and “animals.” At their most extreme, MINE called for the smiting of Korea.

On June 5, Mine admitted to the comments and posted an apology prior to deleting his Twitter feed.

Following Mine’s apology, the main voice cast for a planned [New Life +] Young Again in Another World anime adaptation published notices that they would be quitting the production. Specifically, four actors announced that they would no longer play parts in the show:

  • Toshiki Masuda (Renya Kunugi)
  • Megumi Nakajima (Rona Chevelier)
  • Kiyono Yasuno (Shion Femme Fatale)
  • Nanami Yamashita (Creator)

The show officially cancelled a day later.
