Hinomaru Zumō Anime Gets First Teaser Trailer

It’s time for the sumo team to show off their highlight reel.

Earlier today, the official Hinomaru Zumō anime website updated with a new teaser trailer. The 90-second promo previews the performances for the main voice cast, as well as opening theme song Fire Ground by HIGE DANdism.

Hinomaru Zumō will début on October 5. Tokyo MX, Sun TV, BS11, TV Aichi, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu will all carry the program.

Hinomaru Zumo Key VisualYasutaka Yamamoto (Servant × Service, Actually, I Am…) is directing the series at Gonzo, with Kōnosuke Uda (Days, One Piece) serving as chief director. Kii Tanaka (Donten ni Warau Gaiden: Ketsubetsu, Yamainu no Chikai, Cheating Craft) is providing character design for the project.

The show’s opening theme song will be performed by HIGE DANdism, while Omedetai Atama de Nani Yori will handle the closing theme.

  • Gennosuke Araki: Daisuke Namikawa

Kawada’s Hinomaru Zumō manga launched in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2014. The ongoing series currently spans 20 volumes, with the most recent hitting retailers on May 2. Volume 21 will ship to stores on August 30.
