Funimation Unveils “Ai Tenchi Muyo!” Dub Cast

Yesterday, Funimation announced their English dub cast for Ai Tenchi Muyo!. The series will star the following:

  • Tenchi Masaki: Matt K. Miller
  • Momo Kawanagare: Juli Maddalena
  • Beni Kinojo: Cindy Robinson
  • Tori Fueyama: Laura Post
  • Ryoko: Petrea Burchard
  • Ukan Kurihara: Melora Harte
  • Yuki Fuka: Brianne Brozey
  • Sasami: Sherry Lynn
  • Ayeka: Cherami Leigh
  • Hachiko: Mona Marshall
  • Hana Saryu: Dorothy Elias-Fahn
  • Rui Aoi: Stephanie Sheh
  • Washu: Karen Strassman
  • Ai Tenchi Muyo! Key ArtMihosi: Rebecca Forstadt

Matt K. Miller, Petrea Burchard, and Sherry Lynn are reprising their roles from the original Tenchi Muyo! OVA series.

Steve Kramer is directing the adaptation at Burbank, CA’s CDP Sound. Kramer, Melora Harte, Deborah Crane, and Scott Page-Pagter are writing the dub’s scripts. Del Casher AMI Inc is producing.

Ai Tenchi Muyo! is a short-form production, which originally aired during the Fall 2014 broadcast season. The 60-episode series was directed by Hiroshi Negishi (Tenchi Universe, K.O. Beast) at AIC PLUS+, with the team of Masami Inomata (Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar, Landreaall) and Suzuhito Yasuda (Gundam Build Fighters, Gundam Build Fighters Try) providing character designs. The team of Hiroshi Negishi and Junpei Yoshihara took charge of series composition.

Funimation describes the show as:

Thanks to Washu, the universe has been thrown into chaos and it’s up to Tenchi to clean up the mess. But to do so he’s going undercover as a teacher—at an all-girl’s school! What awaits him beyond the attention of cute girls at this not-so-ordinary school? And will he be able to balance timelines and trouble that come with this latest adventure?
