Hells Movie VisualAs much as I’m not Discotek’s target audience, you still have to deeply respect everything they do to preserve choice bits of anime history. In this article, we’re going to discuss one of these choice bits that was announced at Discotek’s Otakon panel this morning.

At the panel, Discotek announced that they have licensed the 2008 movie from studio Madhouse, Hells. There weren’t a lot of exact release dates being thrown around in this panel and this title is no exception to that. We did, however, get a nice looking trailer as well as the English cast and crew.

The dub will be produced by Team Four Star and Sound Cadence studio and will feature the following cast and crew:

ADR Director – Amber Lee Connors
Head ADR Script Writer – Howard Wang
ADR Script Writer – Scott Frerichs

  • Rinne Amagane – Amanda Lee
  • Ryu Kutou – Howard Wang
  • Hellvis – Jason Marnocha
  • Marlo – Joshua Gotay
  • Who – Chris Guererro
  • Steela – Megan Shipman
  • Phantoma – Marianne Miller
  • Kiki – Sarah Williams
  • Wolfie – Marissa Lenti
  • Cronola – Caitlyn Elizabeth
  • Curia – Elizabeth Maxwell
  • Gillealla – Amanda Gish
  • Mummyla – Emily Fajardo
  • Rokku – Martin Billany
  • Pandaz – Scott Frerichs
  • Rei Kagurazaka – Amber Lee Connors
  • Luca – Corinne Sudberg
  • Rinne’s Mother – Jessica Calvello

The listing of the movie over at MyAnimeList describes the story as:

Amagane Rinne had an accident and died while hurrying to school. She suddenly arrived in an awkward school… in Hell, filled with demons. While she is struggling and wishing to go back to the world whence she came from, she makes friends with her demon schoolmates and develops an uncommon bond.

The original Japanese crew features some notable names including the man who directed and wrote the feature, Yoshiki Yamakawa. Yamakawa is a familiar name that is still present in the current anime industry as he went on to direct other titles including Little Busters, Hatsukoi Limited, and this season’s High Score Girl.
