Attack on Titan Season 3’s World Premiere Gets North American Theatrical Run

Earlier today, Funimation announced that they will present the world première of Attack on Titan‘s third season in theaters across the United States and Canada. The run marks the first time that the Attack on Titan anime has hosted a world première in North America.

130 cinemas will host a two-night screening of the first episode of the season, as well as Attack on Titan Season 2 Movie: Roar of Awakening. The subtitled edition will be shown on July 10, while the dub will be presented on July 11.

Tickets to both screenings will go on sale on June 8 via Funimation’s website.

Attack on Titan‘s third season will officially kick off two weeks later, on July 22. Funimation announced that they acquired the rights to the new season last year.

Tetsuro Araki (Death Note, High School of the Dead, Attack on Titan Season 1) will return as chief director for the project, while Masashi Koizuka reprises his role as director at Wit Studio. Kyoji Asano (Psycho-Pass) is returning as character designer, while Yasuko Kobayashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Shakugan no Shana) reprises her duty on series composition.

The second season of Attack on Titan aired in the Spring 2017 broadcast season.

Funimation describes the second season as:
