Attack on Titan Season 3 Gets New Visual, Trailer, & Cast Members

Soon, humans shall learn to fear the Titans once again.

Earlier today, the official Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) anime website updated with a new key visual and trailer for the show’s third season, along with a pair of cast members.

We break the details down below:

Trailer

The minute-long promo offers a look at numerous high-intensity moments, as character dialogue hints at the greater developments to come this season.

Funimation started streaming a subtitled version of the teaser, which you can check out below.

Key Visual

The image features two layered scenes. The larger of these features the Survey Corps, standing in plain clothes against their regiment’s emblem, ready for battle. At the bottom, Erwin is on his knees, in the presence of the king.

Cast

The series will add the following roles:

  • Kenny Ackerman: Kazuhiro Yamaji
  • Rod Reiss: Yūsaku Yara

Attack on Titan returns to Japanese TV on January 22. Funimation announced that they will stream the series in July.

Attack on Titan Season 3 Visual - Leon vs. KennyTetsuro Araki (Death Note, High School of the Dead, Attack on Titan Season 1) will return as chief director for the project, while Masashi Koizuka reprises his role as director at Wit Studio. Kyoji Asano (Psycho-Pass) is returning as character designer, while Yasuko Kobayashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Shakugan no Shana) reprises her duty on series composition.

The second season of Attack on Titan aired in the Spring 2017 broadcast season. The finale ended with a short teaser, which confirms that a third season of Attack on Titan is in the works for 2018.

Funimation describes the second season as:

Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity’s freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!
