During their industry panel at Anime Expo, A-1 Pictures announced that the upcoming second season of the Ace Attorney anime will receive a United States simulcast. The series is currently slated to hit Japanese TV on October 6.

Ayumu Watanabe (If Her Flag Breaks, Space Brothers) is returning to direct the series at A-1 Pictures. Keiko Ōta (Hyakko!) is once again in charge of character designs on the project, while Atsuhiro Tomioka (Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon XY) takes charge of series composition.

Kaoru Wada (Princess Tutu, Ninja Scroll) will return to score the show’s soundtrack. Original game designer Shu Takumi is collaborating on the project.

Six returning cast members were confirmed for the project (English name / Japanese name):

  • Phoenix Wright/Ryūichi Naruhodō: Yuuki Kaji
  • Maya Fey/Mayoi Ayasato: Aoi Yūki
  • Miles Edgeworth/Reiji Mitsurugi: Masashi Tamaki
  • Mia Fey/Chihiro Ayasato: Chie Nakamura
  • Dick Gumshoe/Keisuke Itonokogiri: Masami Iwasaki
  • Larry Butz/Masashi Yahari: Tooru Nara

Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan. Funimation produced an English dub and released the title on home video. They describe the show as:

As a brand-new defense lawyer, Phoenix Wright is learning what it means to be a true defender of justice. But when his mentor is murdered, things go downhill fast! With all evidence pointing to the victim’s sister Maya, it’s up to Phoenix to use all his wit and powerful shouting to prove her innocence. Which is easier said than done when up against Miles Edgeworth, the genius prosecutor.
