Yuri Lowenthal & Tara Platt To Attend Anime Boston 2019

Earlier today, Anime Boston announced that voice actors Tara Platt and Yuri Lowenthal will attend their 2019 event as guests of honor. The two actors are the tenth and eleventh confirmed western guests, respectively, and join the following:

Platt an Lowenthal are a husband and wife duo, who have been married as of 2002.

Yuri Lowenthal has been active in the entertainment industry since 1998. During his third year attending The College of William & Mary, Lowenthal studied abroad in Osaka. Following his graduation, he worked as a Coordinator of International Relations with the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET), while continuing to pursue ventures in acting. He spent six years in New York, performing in the theatre, as well as in indie films.

He moved to Los Angeles to take on additional roles. There, he took a voice acting class with Tara Platt. His first voice acting role was Bakunetsumaru in 2004’s Superior Defender Gundam Force. Since then, he’s gone on to voice more than three hundred roles in anime and other works, including:

Tara Platt has been active in the entertainment industry since 2004. She earned her Bacherlor of Fine Arts at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in 1999, before studying in London. Upon returning to North America, Platt moved to New York, where she worked off Broadway, before moving to Los Angeles.

She co-founded independent film company Monkey King Productions with her husband Yuri Lowenthal in 2004, and co-wrote two books: Voice-Over Voice Actor: What It’s Like Behind the Mic Voice-Over Voice Actor: The Extended Edition.

Through her career, Platt has voiced more than one hundred fifty roles, including:
