Plunderer Anime Gets New Visual & Teaser Trailer

Earlier today, the official Plunderer anime website updated with a new key visual and a trailer. We break the details down below.

Trailer

The seven-and-a-half minute promo previews Shizuka Itou and Yuichiro Umehara’s performances as Nana and Jail Murdoch, respectively. The teaser then cuts to an extended cast interview with the two actors.

Key Visual

The image features Licht Bach holding Linn May close as he brandishes a blade. The rest of the cast can be seen posing behind them in various formats.

Plunderer Anime Key Visual

Plunderer will air in January 2020. Funimation will stream the series as a simulcast and produce and English dub for the title.

Hiroyuki Kanbe (Oreimo, Gonna be the Twin-Tail!) is directing the title at Geek Toys, with the team of Hiroki Fukuda, Yuka Takashina, and Yūki Fukuchi providing character designs. Masashi Suzuki (Rail Wars!, Kanokon: The Girl Who Cried Fox) is in charge of series composition.

Funimation describes the title as:

In the world of Plunderer, everyone’s born with a number written on their body. Those numbers determine social ranking and go up or down depending on a specific criteria in each person’s life. But when a person’s number drops to zero, they’re sucked into the ground, never to be seen again

Suu Minazuki’s Plunderer manga launched in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in December 2014. To date, thirteen volumes have been released, with the latest shipping to stores on July 26.
