At a press conference held earlier today in Japan, it was announced that the hit video game franchise Ni No Kuni will be getting its own anime movie this summer! The movie will feature Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino as the executive producer and scriptwriter along with character designs from Yoshiyuki Momose and music by Joe Hisaishi. Actor and model Kento Yamazaki will be taking on the lead role of Yu, who travels back and forth between the real world and the land of Ni No Kuni along with his childhood friend Kotona. The animation will be handled by OLM who is best known for a number of children’s titles including Pokemon, Yokai Watch, and many others.
The game series has been around since the end of last decade starting as a Nintendo DS game before getting a full-scale release for the PlayStation 3 in November 2011. A sequel was released in 2018.
